Emergency and urgent mental health support
Immediate danger — call 999
If you or someone else is in immediate danger, has seriously harmed themselves, has taken an overdose, or cannot remain safe, call 999 or go to your nearest Accident and Emergency department.
A mental health emergency should be treated as seriously as a physical health emergency. You will not be wasting anyone’s time.

NHS 111 mental health crisis support nationwide
If you need urgent mental health support but there is not an immediate threat to life, call NHS 111 and select the mental health option.
This provides access to urgent mental health support 24 hours a day. You may be connected to a trained mental health professional who can assess your needs and help you access the most appropriate local service.

First Response Service — Cambridgeshire and Peterborough
The First Response Service supports people experiencing a mental health crisis in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.
Call 111 and select the mental health option. The service is available 24 hours a day and can provide assessment, advice and access to local crisis support.

Your GP
If you are struggling with your mental health but are not in immediate danger, contact your GP. Your GP can discuss treatment, medication and referrals to NHS mental health services. You can ask for an urgent appointment if you feel you need help quickly.

Samaritans
Samaritans provides free, confidential emotional support at any time of the day or night. You do not have to be suicidal to contact them. You can talk about anything that is troubling you.
